Polo in Barbados dates back to as early as 1884, although the Polo Club was suspended from 1929 until 1939, when the Barbados Polo Club was resurrected at the Garrison Savannah.
In 1965 polo moved to the club at Holders, St. James. Since then Barbados Polo has gone from strength to strength with the addition of three new fields and a very interesting future.
These world class Polo Clubs, with their full-sized fields, are the finest in the West Indies.
These clubs are a place to indulge one’s love for all things equestrian: to share in the drama and spectacle of International Polo matches against stunning backdrops of the Caribbean Sea.
All visitors are welcome to Polo Matches scheduled a few times a week throughout the various polo clubs.
On match days, there is a full bar in operation along with tea and light food for sale.
Please note however, that polo is dependent on a sunny day so be sure to check the weather.
